Early childhood education is a crucial stage for children's holistic development. Therefore, planning the teaching and learning process requires a solid pedagogical foundation to guide teaching practice in this context. Pedagogical models are especially important, as they define the conception of the child, the teacher's role, the selection of methodological strategies, and the organization of relevant learning experiences. This article analyzes the importance of pedagogical models in planning the teaching and learning process in early childhood education through a theoretical review of academic literature and specialized documents. The analysis shows that planning based on coherent pedagogical models promotes the articulation between objectives, methodologies, evaluation, and the needs of child development. It identifies that approaches such as constructivism, Montessori, and other active pedagogies promote learning environments centered on participation, exploration, play, and the meaningful construction of knowledge. It is concluded that pedagogical models not only guide educational action but also strengthen the quality of planning and contribute to holistic development in early childhood education.
